The Tamron SP 70–200mm F2.8 Di VC USD (model A009) is a full frame high-speed telephoto zoom lens. The lens is equipped with Tamron Vibration Compensation (VC) image stabilization and Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD) autofocus. Tamron declared the lens to be the apex of telephoto lenses in a compact package.
Its optical scheme comprises 23 elements in 17 groups, including four LD elements and one special XLD glass element. Tamron advanced multicoating technology efficiently reduces flare and ghosting. The circular aperture retains its almost round form at any value. Moisture-resistant construction helps prevent moisture from penetrating the lens.
The Sony mount does not include VC and corresponding index in the name, as Sony digital SLR cameras include image stabilization functionality.

The 5-year warranty extends to all Tamron lenses officially imported to the Russian Federation and purchased after September 1, 2010. In order to get warranty you should get registered at the Tamron European website within two months after the lens purchase. The warranty is valid only for the first registered buyer.
