The Sony E 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 PZ OSS (SELP18200) is a universal zoom lens for Sony E digital camcoders. This is the first servodrive lens, and its compatibility with mirrorless cameras has not been announced yet.
The optical scheme comprises 17 elements in 12 groups, including five aspherical and one ED glass elements. The lens features a 4 stop optical stabilizer. A circular 7-blade diaphragm provides ideally round aperture from wide open position to stopped down by two steps.
The lens is equipped with a linear stepper motor optimized for silent video filming, DMF(FTM) in AF mode. The front element does not rotate during autofocus operations.
The lens features Power Zoom (PZ) function which provides constant speed zooming for slow, smooth zoom effects that can enhance cinematographic expression but are difficult to achieve manually Zoom can be controlled from the camera that feature built-in zoom levers and by the standard control on the lens barrel. There are three variable lens speeds. No additional batteries are necessary for internal stepping motor. Poweris supplied from the camera.
