In 1951 Asahi Optical Co. established Cosmicar Lens Division specializing in CCTV lenses production. Since 1961 there was a massive spread of CCTV lenses worldwide. In 2002, due to the PENTAX brand awareness, out of the independent Cosmicar/PENTAX company there emerged a PENTAX CCTV-lenses subdivision.

Macro mode is available at the focal length of 200 mm. The lens body is metal. 

It is almost an exact replica of the Pentax-A 70-200/4.
