  • max. magnification 1:4.6
  • Diameter 68.6 mm

The Sigma AF 8mm F3.5 EX DG Circular Fisheyeis a superwide-angle full-format circular fisheye lens. It has been designed for digital full-format cameras  and can be used on film cameras.  The use of this lens with small-format digital cameras makes no sense, as there are special circular fisheye lenses, marked DC, for such cameras.

The optical scheme of the lens includes a SLD element in the rear group made of ultralow dispersion glass for correction of chromatic aberration. The super multi-coating optimized for digital cameras decreases flare and halation, and corrects color  rendering.

The circular fisheye produces a circular image with an angle  of view of 180° at the center with a black surrounding frame. Such an image can be taken on a full frame only and is beyond a human eye's ability The lens has a very large depth of field. The use of this lens with small-format digital cameras makes no sense, as there are circular fisheye lenses for such cameras marked DC.

A very large angle of view does not make it possible to use screw mount filters. Filters are attached to the rear of the lens. Gelatin filter holder is completed with the lens.
