The Carl Zeiss Sonnar 85mm f/2.8  is a compact portrait prime lens. The lens was manufactured for Rollei SL35 cameras at Carl Zeiss works in Oberkochen, Germany.  The lens came with Zeiss' two-layer coating. Since the mid 1974 the lens was manufactured under the license agreement at Rollei works in Braunschweig and Singapore. It is remarkable for its mechanical and optical quality.

The lens was also available in QBM I modification with A/M aperture mode selector.
