The Fujinon XF 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 R LM OIS  is a telephoto zoom lens for digital SLR cameras FujiFilm XF.

The optical scheme comprises 14 elements in 10 groups, including one aspherical element and two Extra Low Dispersion elements (equivalent to fluorite). All the elements are covered with a proprietary HT-EBC (High Transmittance Electron Beam Coating) coating Optical Image Stabilization provides 4.5 stops of shake correction.

The lens is equipped with two linear stepping motors, providing high-speed (0.28 sec) and silent autofocusing, optimized for shooting video. Internal focusing with Full Time Manual (FTM) - the front element does not rotate during focus operations. The lens barrel and bayonet are constructed of high quality metal. The aperture ring offers 17 stops in 1/3 EV steps.

Macro mode is available in the range of 1.1 - 3 m with a max.magnification ratio of 0.18 (tele).

Period of use: 2 years

Strengths:

Fast and silent autofocus,good image stabilization,super optical capabilities (colors+contrast),good zoom range 55-200mm,no zoom creep,lightweight


Weaknesses:

Mechanical zoom operation its slow, hard to get quick zoom, no inner zoom operation like Canon 70-200mm f4,no weather sealed, aperture ring without f marks, 62mm filter size, close focus only 1.1m , hight price.


Comments:

Good zoom lens, but for action photography get the 50-150mm f2,8 version.
