Additional information:

The Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 2.8/80 T is a lower telephoto prime lens for 35mm SLR cameras.

The first version has a red T in inscription, later copies are without T in labeling. The iris is a nearly round 16 blades preset aperture. The Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 2.8/80 T appeared at the same time as the Biometar 2.8/80 T according to GDR Timetable of Zeiss Jena lenses, but the Tessar was only produced for a short time. Other sources speak of Biometar 2.8/80 T as the successor to this Tessar.

Owner reviews: Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 80 mm f/ 2.8 T

Period of use: 5 months

Strengths:

This lens is the sharpest lens I own. I know not everyone agrees with that. I use this lens for light table photography to import my negatives into raw format. And is hands down the sharpest, edge to edge of every lens I could use for that purpose. And as far as normal photography, this lens shines.Mine has 12 blades.

Weaknesses:

None.

Comments:

This is a keeper lens.
