Additional information:

The Carl Zeiss Planar T * 85 mm f/ 1.2 C/Y is the fastest portrait  lens for SRL cameras with the Contax/Yashica bayonet mount.

The lens became a legend and a relative rarity at the time of its serial production. The lens came in two series: 1981-82 for the 50-th anniversary of Contax in 1982 and 1991-92 for the 60-th anniversary of the firm in 1992.

Now  you can purchase a Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar T*  85 mm f/ 1.2 secondhand, but it is more expensive than  other C/Y lenses (except for the Carl Zeiss Planar T*  55 mm f/ 1.2, it has almost the same price).

Real focal length 83 mm

The Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar T*  85 mm  f/ 1.2 generates a high level and quality image. High sharpness and contrast at the center and on the edges, especially, from f/ 4 onwards.  Beautiful and natural color rendering.

Harmonious bokeh and amazing flexibility when.

The distortion is practically absent. The vignetting is slightly visible up to f/2.

Side, back and scattered light is well handled, but it is recommended to use a hood.

The Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar T*  85 mm f/ 1.2  can be recommended as an excellent portrait lens as well as for artistic photography  with a shallow depth of field.
