The Canon EF 24 mm f/ 1.4 L USM is a professional L-series wide-angle lens for Canon EOS film and digital cameras.
The optical scheme includes aspherical elements and ultra low dispersion elements, which minimizes aberrations and has a positive effect on color and contrast rendering.
With a wide angle and lens speed of 1.4 this lens allows you to take high-quality pictures in bad light conditions without a tripod or a flash.
It is rather sharp at f/1.4. From f/2.8 onward it is very sharp. It has a circle 7-blade aperture.
A built-in ring-type ultra-sonic motor (USM) makes focusing fast and silent. Focusing is internal. Manual focusing can be switched on at any time by turning the focus ring. The front part of the Canon EF 24mm f/1.4 L USM does not rotate on focusing, which enables the use of special attachments, as well as gradient and polarizing filters.
The lens is resistant to back and side light. There are very notable losses of resolution on the edges. Vignetting is quite notable at f/ 1.8, but after stopping down to f/4, it is almost invisible.
The Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L USM is useful for landscape, architecture, interior and genre photography. It is ideally fit for video shooting on modern SLR cameras.
Compatible hood: EW-83K
The lens comes completed with a hood and a soft case.
