The Sigma AF 18-50 mm f/ 2.8 EX DC Macro is a standard zoom lens for 35 mm SLR cameras of popular autofocus systems.
EX series is a professional line of Sigma lenses, remarkable for its high mechanical and optic quality.
DC series is a line of Sigma lenses optimized for digital SLR APS-C cameras.
The focusing is internal, the front element does not rotate during focus operations.
The Sigma AF 18-50 mm f/ 2.8 EX DC Macro replaced the Sigma AF 18-50 mm f/ 2.8 EX DC. Later on (presumably in 2008) Sigma went on producing this lens with a hyper sonic motor.
