The Nikon Series E 50 mm f/ 1.8 (I) is a normal prime lens for 35mm Nikon F SLR cameras.

It is multicoated. It is one of the extreme compact Nikon lenses ( only the GN Nikkor 45 mm f/ 2.8and the Nikkor 45 mm f/ 2.8 P have smaller dimensions).

As opposed to the second version, the Nikon Series E 50mm f/1.8 (I) lens features a narrow plastic focus ring and a different design.
