Additional information:
The Sigma Zoom 28-70 mm f/ 2.8 is a fast standard zoom lens for 35 mm Nikon F and Canon EF cameras.
This is a rare lens. The lens for the Nikon F which I have was purchased at an auction in Japan. The reviews of the lens have not been found in the Internet. According to the seller, this lens was produced in a small lot and generally for the Japanese market.
The Sigma Zoom 28-70mm f/2.8 is a fast zoom with a built-in motor drive, covering the range from moderate wide-angle to portrait. But no miracles, fast lens speed is compensated with very strong chromatic aberrations and low detailing on the edges. Shooting wide open is reasonable only in poor light conditions.
At f/5.6 it functions all right. On stopping down the image is superb in the center - high detailing and low aberrations. There is flare, but not much. It is completed with a hood, which is attached to the lens in the inverted position.
The Sigma Zoom 28-70 mm f/ 2.8 is a very questionable purchase for the Nikon F camera, if you camera is not equipped with a built-in motor; the rotation angle of the focusing ring is not large, and it may be difficult to manually bring the lens into sharp focus. Besides, you can easily find a better lens for a camera with a built-in motor.
However, it pays its cost and if you don't have enough money to buy a high-quality lens, you can substitute slow kit lenses by this Sigma. When you buy such a lens, you should pay attention to focusing accuracy.
