Tokina AF 28-70 mm f/ 2.8 AT-X Pro II Lens

The Tokina AF 28-70 mm f/ 2.8 AT-X Pro II  is a fast standard zoom lens with constant lens speed for 35-мм SLR camera of popular autofocus systems.

This is the third version of the Tokina 28-70mm F2.8 AT-X Pro with a hood bayonet mount. In some countries it is also known as the Tokina 28-70mm F2.6-2.8 AT-X Pro. Many photographers consider it to be the best variant of this lens. As compared with the original version, the lens coating was improved and one aspherical element was added.

The build is beyond praise. It is very reliably assembled. Large and metal.

Focusing of the Tokina AF 28-70mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro II is  fast and accurate. When wide open at 50 mm, sharpness is sufficient to solve the majority of photo tasks. Of course, it is not exceeding, but quite functional.

From 50-70mm onward there appears a very beautiful soft-effect (but no blurring). From f/4 onward sharpness is excellent at all focal lengths. Velvet bokeh. Superb color  rendering.
