The F Auto-Topcor 100 mm f/2.8is a portrait prime lens for various 35 mm SLR camera systems.
This is a transitional lens preceding the RE Auto series. The lens was on sale alongside with the previous Topcon UV modification in 1961-1964. The following article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topcon_RE-Super mentions the Re Auto 100 lens, introduced in 1965.The main difference lies in front element coating color - it has a pronounced blue tint, resembling much the Tair 11 and 3's old chemical coating. That's why the photos taken with this lens have a "cold" and somewhat "German" tint :-). Though the UV series, as a rule, has a "yellow" front element. The aperture scale is covered with plastic glass. The lens is exceptionally sharp. At some American message boards I saw the information that the lens was manufactured for the domestic market. That may be true, as "Re. Auto-Topcon" is a trademark used for the USA.
