Additional information:
The Walimex Pro 500 mm f/ 6.3 is a super telephoto catadioptric prime lens with a constant aperture for 35 mm SLR cameras, equipped with an adapter for interchangeable T2 (T-mount) mounts. By means of these interchangeable mounts the lens can be mounted on the majority of SLR cameras.
This is Samyang's ODM-product. The same lenses come under trade names of Vivitar, Bower, Rokinon and other third-rate trade marks.
On the APS-C sensor the equivalent focal length is 750 mm.
With an angle of the focus ring rotation of 90 degrees and a large thread pitch, the lens is difficult to focus, especially on the subjects that are more than 20 m away. There is also a considerable override past infinity.
On cropped frame cameras the lens produces even sharpness across the whole frame and insignificant vignetting.
Due to a low light transmission coefficient of its optical system, it is recommended to use a tripod or a monopod for shooting with such a lens.
