Additional information:
The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR is a telephoto prime lens, equipped with an image stabilizer, for 35 mm Nikon F SLR cameras. The lens comes complete with the AF-S TC800-1.25E ED teleconverter.
The optical scheme comprises 20 elements in 13 groups, including two fluorite, two ED glass elements, and one protective glass element. The glass elements are covered with Nano Crystal Coat. The lens features a 4-stop optical stabilizer. A new electromagnetic diaphragm maintains consistent exposures during high-speed continuous shooting and is compatible with the teleconverter, but incompatible with film cameras, D1 and D2 digital cameras, as well as D200, D100, D90, D80, D70, D3000, D60, D50, D40 cameras.
The optical design of the teleconverter comprises five elements in three groups, including one ED glass element. The teleconverter increases the lens' focal length to 1000 mm at f/7.1, thus reducing its view angle to 2° 30'(1° 40' for Nikon DX).
