The Sigma A 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM is an ultra fast normal prime lens for DSLR APS-C/DX format cameras. The lens belongs to the new Art series. The lens is to replace the revised AF 30mm f/1.4 EX DC HSM, released in 2005, featuring a new optical scheme.
The optical scheme consists of nine elements in eight groups, including one aspherical element. As the manufacturer recommends the lens for stellar sky photography, the lens must have well corrected coma.
Alongside with a newly developed autofocus algorithm, the lens is equipped with a silent, fast ring-type Hyper Sonic Autofocus Motor and supports fulltime manual focus. The floating inner focusing system ensures high optical performance for closeup photography. The lens employs a rear focusing system. The front element does not rotate on focus.
The brass bayonet is durable and precise. The lens has been constructed with Thermally Stable Composite Material (TSC) for its internal and external body elements.
USB Dock Station+ Sigma Optimization PRO Software is available for updating the lens firmware and adjusting its parameters (including AF):
