The Tokina AT-X PRO SD 12-28 F4 (IF) DX(model 128) is an ultra-wide angle zoom lens with a constant max. aperture for digital SLR cameras with APS-C (DX) sized sensors. The lens is to replace model 124, manufactured since 2008.
The optical scheme of the lens comprises 14 elements in 12 groups, including two aspherical and two Super-low Dispersion glass elements. The glass elements are multicoated.
The lens employs a recently developed ultrasonic DC motor coupled with a new GMR sensor, providing more accurate and silent, faster autofocus operations as compared to previous generation lenses.
Zooming is fully internal, so the lens stays the same length at all focal lengths The front element does not rotate.
The unique proprietary «One-touch focus» (FCM) function is used to switch between automatic and manual focus of the lens. Shifting the focus ring along the lens barrel approximately 4-5 mm forward and back, you can choose manual or auto focus mode (there is a click sound heard). The lens has no FTM function.
