Additional information:

The Tair 11-2 135 mm f/ 2.8 (Russian: "Таир")  is a fast telephoto lens for cameras with the M42 screw mount.

Export model - Tair-11-2. This is a fast coated lens. It is equipped with an iris preset aperture.

The 20-blade aperture is nearly ideally round, which provides a beautiful out-of-focus blur when wide open. The image is moderately sharp and plastic. Due to low resolution (as compared to the Tair 11A) its basic sphere of application is portrait photography. That is where his principal characteristics - plasticity, low resolution and contrast - appear to be  advantages.

The lens body came in two colors: light and dark.

In 1958 at the World's Fair in Brussels the set of lenses, the Tair-11 being a part of it, was awarded the Grand Prix.

This modification differs from the Tair-11 in appearance and screw mount (m42 versus m39 of the 11 lens).

Resolution according to the technical specifications (center/edge): 28/18 lpmm

Coefficient of transparency: 0.80

Via adapters the Tair 11-2 135 mm f /2.8 can be easily mounted on modern digital SLR cameras.

The model year of a Soviet lens can always be determined by the first two figures of its serial number.

Owner reviews: Tair 11-2 135 mm f/ 2.8

Bakin 1.1.2000 00:00:01
Period of use: 10 months

Strengths:
  • Simple, but very good optical system.
  • A beautiful picture.
  • Sufficient sharpness of the max apertures.
  • 20 aperture blades! Perfectly round hole!

    Weaknesses:

    • Not very convenient design rim.
    • Tight move the rings (in fact that I have anyway)

      Comments:

A very good portrait lens. Given the low price on it now, as they say - must have!
