The Samyang 14mm f/2.8 IF ED MC Asphericalis a superwide-angle full format prime lenswith manual focusing which is remarkable for its high resolution and low price. Barrel distortion is visible. Vignetting is present when open wider than 3EV.
Since February, 2011 the AE 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC lens for the Nikon F bayonet mount equipped with electronically-controlled exposure and possibility to use iTTL flashes has been on sale. Resolution has increased at maximum aperture as compared with the previous version (according to LensTip). The optical scheme of the lens has not changed.
The second version was released in 2012 and features a new optical scheme and is marked with a red ring closer to the bayonet.
Samyang lenses may come under other brand names: Walimex , Rokinon, Opteka, Falcon, Vivitar, Bower.
