Additional information:
The Konica Hexanon AR 85 mm f// 1.8 is a legendary portrait lens for SLR cameras with the Konica AR bayonet mount.
It came in two variants with the same optical scheme. The early variant came in an all-metal frame (it was borrowed from the Konica F bayonet mount). The subsequent variant has a rubber-coated focusing ring.
The Konica Hexanon AR 85 mm f/ 1.8 produces a high-quality image, high resolution and contrast at the center and on the edges, nice color rendering, balanced bokeh and splendid flexibility when wide open.
Distortion is practically absent.
Side, back and scattered light is not well handled, and it is extremely recommended to use a hood.
The Konica Hexanon AR 85 mm f/ 1.8 is rather rare on today's secondary market and much more expensive than other lenses for Konica AR. But in the photographer's skilled hands it pays the cost completely.
It can be recommended as an excellent lens for portraiture as well as for artistic photography with a shallow depth of field.
Because of a small flange focal distance it is difficult to use the Konica Hexanon AR 85 mm f/ 1.8 on modern digital SLR cameras(bayonet modification required), but it can be easily used on mirrorless cameras.
