The Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSMis a superwide-angle 2x zoom with a constant maximum aperture throughout the entire zoom range designed for DSLR APS-C cameras and providing its owners with a very popular range of focal lengths of 15-30 mm.
The optical scheme of the Sigma 10-20 mm f/ 3.5 EX DC HSM includes four aspherical elements (two hybrid and two molded ) for correction of distortion and astigmatism, two SLD elements and one ELD element for correction of chromatic aberration. The super multi-coating of optic elements reduces flare and halation, and increases contrast.
The Hyper-Sonic Motor of the AF drive provides noiseless and high-speed focusing and the possibility of constant manual focusing without switching to the manual mode. The autofocus does not function on the Pentax * IST and K100D cameras, which do not support the HSM.
The system of internal focusing eliminates the front lens rotation and provides convenient use of a petal hood and polarized filters, as well as focusing at minimum distance 24 cm throughout the entire zoom range.
The size of the Sigma 10-20 mm f/ 3 EX DC OS HSM changes while zooming in. It has smallest size at the focal distance of 15 mm, it is a bit longer at the focal distance of 20 mm, at the focal distance of 10 mm the lens reaches its maximum, becoming just 5 mm longer.
